Arun Jacob’s Personal Website

Arun Jacob (he/him) completed his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto. Arun’s work analyzes how contemporary knowledge-control systems emerge from the convergence of publishing, evaluation, and surveillance by employing a media‑genealogical approach to read data models, search protocols, and software architectures as sites where power is exercised, and trace how technical affordances and administrative logics sediment into durable technical knowledge systems. Arun’s publications have appeared in Science as Culture, Journal of Gender Studies, TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies, Interdisciplinary Digital Engagement in Arts & Humanities (IDEAH), Digital Studies/Le Champ Numérique, and various edited collections.
